I'm Sarah Simon-Blum and I'm comic artist and illustrator with a love of the weird, whimsical and supernatural. Ever since I was little, I've been inspired by comic books, trading card games, cartoons and video games. Making art has always been that thing I was just meant to do. I'm aiming for all my art to feel a bit like Halloween - dark and spooky but also fun and sweet.
I live near Denver, Colorado and I graduated with a BFA in Illustration from the University of Colorado, Denver. I first made Sanguine: Monster Magical Girl for a Contest on Webtoons in 2018, and rebooted it in 2021. It follows the young Vampire Minerva, who has become lost in the monotony of her daily boring life, until she has a chance to become something rare and special in the Monster World - a Witch!
It is on pause, but I plan to return to it soon. Knip is my simple slice-of-life style comic about an alien pretending to be a human. It started life as part of my Illustration Thesis early 2017 and has moved to its new home on Webtoon in October, 2017. Episodes focus on things like how ridiculous humans and society can be, and Knip's personal social and mental struggles.
It's schedule is now "Wheneversday" so I post whenever I have something to knip about. |
Currently I'm trying to explore where I can do my live watercolor portraiture, like this self portrait here!
